Review These 2 Things to Help Boost Sales

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

I’ve been swamped with work this week and just remembered an important “New Year’s” tip to share with you.

Have you checked these two things recently? If not, you may be missing out on new customers and media interviews.

1. Is there old copy on your website?

Try to take a few minutes to review your website. Check all of the pages for old copyright dates and outdated information. In the process, you’ll probably notice additional updates that need to be made right away.

After all, you want to provide current, fresh information. Otherwise, you may lose new customers…and sales.

2. Is your media list old?

How long has it been since you checked your media-list information? Due to current economic conditions, many media members have moved to different employers or organizations.

If you automatically send your press releases and news to an old list, you may be wasting time and money. Be sure you have the right contact information for the right people.

To start 2009 off the right way, try to take a moment to review your goals and actions. Update your website and media information now, and you’ll avoid problems later on.

Need help with the copy on your website or your PR efforts? Feel free to send me a note here, or register for my free, monthly newsletter at www.rembrandtwrites.com. I’m here to help! Thanks.

It’s a New Year – Now What?

Monday, January 5th, 2009

As you get ready for work and sip your morning coffee, are you preparing to go “back to the old grind” just to pay your bills?

If so, it’s time for a change. After all, it can be miserable to live from paycheck to paycheck and watch every penny (I know. I’ve been there.).

Instead, why don’t you start taking action to make change happen? Life is too short to be unhappy and spend your days “waiting for retirement.” As Robert Schuller says:

“If it’s going to be, it’s up to me.”

And instead of being overwhelmed at all the time and effort you’ll need to make your dream-lifestyle a reality, start small.

For example, take five minutes today to write down what you would like to accomplish and how much you would like to make this year.

Tomorrow, create a plan-of-action, and write down action steps you can take to move closer to your dreams. (Maybe you need to do some research? Read a book? Study a new skill? Network with the right people? Update your website?) Then, follow your plan and finish a step each day.

It may take some time, and you’ll need some patience, but you will start to see change happen. You’ll move that much closer to your dreams.

So what are you waiting for? If you want things to change in your life, it’s up to you to make it happen. There is no magic pill or “free ride” for instant success. Get out there and live the life you want – It’s well worth the effort, and you can do it!
