Stop the Stress-Tips to Find Work

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Things are crazy right now, but it’s not the time to give up. Instead, it’s time to work a little harder and be more creative.

There are businesses out there hiring workers and paying for new services. It’s just a matter of finding them and fulfilling their needs.

Here are a few tips to help promote you and your business to help “get your piece of the pie”:

Research.

Look online to see which businesses and industries are doing well. Then, find out who is hiring, what they are looking for and how your services fit their needs. What problem are they having that you can solve?

Market Yourself.

Once you’ve done your research, figure out exactly how your unique services will help the business succeed. Then, create a marketing package. Instead of sending a simple resume or brochure, cater your pitch to solving the specific needs of the potential employer or client.

By doing some extra work and figuring out why someone should hire you, you’ll stand out from the crowd and increase your chances of boosting your income.

Are You Using These Free PR and SEO Tools?

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Last week, I shared my new list of free, press-release distribution sites with you at

http://www.rembrandtwrites.com/FreePressReleasePostingSites.htm.

But what about free SEO and blogs?

If you haven’t already done so, check out these free services too:

Free Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Add the keywords people search for online, and you can significantly increase site visitors and sales. And there are free services to help you find just the right words.

Take a look at the free-trial services at www.wordtracker.com and www.keyworddiscovery.com.

Both services are easy to use. And before you know it, you’ll have SEO keywords on all your online copy to help bring in new customers.

Free Blogs.

If you don’t have a blog, you are missing out on an opportunity to share valuable information with potential customers. And it’s easy to start your own blog with a free service like www.blogger.com or http://wordpress.org/. And once you start writing entries, try to insert some of your SEO keywords to attract more attention.

Note that it does take some extra time to use these free services, but they are well worth the effort!
